I'm a Mrs. now!

Yesterday my fiance and I got married. After a few short weeks of wedding planning I decided it was just not my thing. I had been asking him off and on since we got engaged if we could just elope and finally on Easter Sunday he said it sounded like a good idea. We called our parents and they were supportive so set the wheels in motion and wahla, we're married.

Tuesday, a week ago, two of my girlfriends and I set out for the mall with an hour to find the perfect dress, we succeeded with time to buy shoes, jewelry and a few fun things. It was a great night. Wednesday, a week ago, we bought our wedding bands. Saturday R and I bought the material for my shawl, ribbon for my hair and waist. Monday we got our license and I bought JP a new tie to wear and by Wednesday it was all set.

One small thing tainting this is that we had been planning to see all of my family on Saturday, but due to a sad change of plans I wont be able to see them until July. But their love and well wishes is flowing all the way from the East coast, so I know there were there in spirit.

I officially say to anyone who is upset because they "can't afford to get married" that they need to get over themselves. This was completely affordable and a perfect small event. If getting married is your goal, it costs fifty bucks - if a party is your goal, stop calling it a wedding and throw a party. :)
